General Commercial Litigation

Running a business can be a minefield. Disputes do arise with suppliers and customers, colleagues and staff, in relation to property matters and a wide range of other potential problem areas. Resolving a dispute before courts or tribunals should always be seen as a priority. Litigating involves money and time with the losing party often ordered to pay the other sides legal costs and expenses.

Whilst Hodge Halsall adopts a proactive and cost effective approach to the resolution of disputes on behalf of its clients we seek to avoid, for their benefit, wherever possible the need for determination by a court.

Our aim is a rapid and committed defence of your business interests and rights tempered by a consideration of the wider picture.

Insolvency

Directors of limited companies may experience pressure from creditors. Hodge Halsall can assist in providing advice on insolvency issues and when prompt action is required to set aside a statutory demand. We aim to provide practical and lateral solutions to our clients problems.

Individuals who operate in business as a sole trader or in partnership remain personally liable for debts of the business and in the case of partners the liability of each partner is unlimited so that creditors can recover their entire debt from one partner. When problems do arise with creditors Hodge Halsall can assist in negotiating with and possibly litigating against creditors.
